The first series in Flight A is a land triple and an honor. The marks are thrown right, middle, left flyer. Mark #1 is a 104 yard mark thrown angled back from right to left. There is a strip of cover and a couple of small trees that this first bird is thrown behind. Mark #2 is the shortest mark in this series and lies in the middle of the test at 51 yards. This mark is thrown right to left and angled slightly back. Mark #3 is the left most mark and it's a live flyer at 100 yards from the line of the working dog. This mark is thrown left to right.
The field is mowed with patches of heavier cover for the dogs to negotiate. There is a wall of heavy cover right in front of the working dog for marks 1 and 2.
After the marks have been retrieved from the field the working dog moves over to the left and must honor the next working dog.
