The 5th Series of Flight A is an interrupted triple with a double blind. This is a difficult concept for handlers and dogs alike. The scenario is that three marks are thrown. You pick up 1 of the marks. Next, run blind #1, which is behind gun station #1. Pick up the remaining marks. Run blind #2, which is on the tip of the point and just outside mark #1.
Mark #1 is 72 yards from the line, thrown angled back from left to right down the center of a point of land. This mark is the leftmost mark in the test. Mark #2 is on the far right side of the test. This bird is thrown from right to left, over a road, and this bird is thrown down the center of a point of land. This bird is 77 yards from the line. Mark #3 is a very short 39 yards from the line. This bird is thrown from a small point of land out into the water toward a very small island. This bird is thrown from left to right.
Blind #1 is 60 yards from the line, and again, this bird is placed behind and tight to gun station #1. Dogs must cut a corner of water and then up and out to the bird.
